The waves crashing along the rocky shoreline, the sea otters frolicking just offshore, the whales spouting, the surrounding mountains lit up by the sunset ... these are the images seen from each guest room of this elegant inn. Such natural beauty is complimented on the inside by an ecclectic collection of comfortable furnishings. A bountiful breakfast, enjoyable afternoon wine and cheese, outstanding guest service and the comfort of all private baths combine to make Seven Gables, truly, one of the most outstanding inns in California. Seven Gables was completed in the year 1886. It was one of a parade of large, showy mansions being built along the oceanfront of the Monterey Peninsula. Whoever picked this particular site had an eye to the future. Today it stands with an unobstructed view of the Monterey Bay and the coastal mountains beyond. Seven Gables Inn is personally managed by our family. We opened our home to guests in 1982. Since then, we have anticipated the wishes of our guests, and we endeavor to make your holiday one that you will always remember.. The maximum number of guests per room is 2, our minimum age is 12 for safety. Our rooms do not have phones or T.V.s however we have a radio and C.D. player in every room. We feature down and fiberfill pillows in every room. Room rates include Wine & Cheese between 5-6pm, homemade cookies between 8-9:30pm and, of course, our buffet breakfast which we serve in our oceanfront breakfast room.
