Lodging Description: The luxurious Puesta del Sol Condominiums are located in the Northern Hotel Zone (Puenta Norte), just 1/4 mile north of the Puerto de Abrigo Marina and one mile north of the town of San Miguel. These six- and eight-story buildings (Phase I and Phase II, respectively) are the newest and most exclusive on the Island. Situated directly on a coral rise above the sea, with an unsurpassed Caribbean vista, each building has a saltwater swimming pool surrounded by a generous patio area with chaise lounges for quiet relaxation, and thatched palapas to protect guests from the sun's strong rays, a freshwater shower, large BBQ, and access to the beautiful turquoise sea from a small pier. The two buildings sit on live coral rock offering the snorkeler instant access to a wonderland of coral heads to explore and colorful tropical fish to observe. Elevators connect each floor to the common poolside terraces, main entrance and parking area for your rental vehicle. Upon entering each centrally air-conditioned condominium, you will find an open-plan living/dining room and modern Euro-style kitchen, completely appointed. Large sliding glass doors lead out onto furnished oceanfront balconies offering spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and downtown bay of San Miguel. Puesta del Sol translates to 'sunset' in English, and we can think of no better place from which to enjoy this evening spectacle. At twilight, the brilliantly-illuminated cruise ships come and go, and at night, you can see the sparkling lights of the Mexican mainland. As you enter the condominiums, off to the side of the open plan living/dining room/kitchen area is the Master Bedroom Suite featuring bay windows and direct access to the balconies. Some accommodations have Jacuzzis in the bay window. In the Master Suite, the master bathroom is accessed from the bedroom via the dressing area. The remaining bedrooms have ocean or jungle views. The second and third bedrooms share the second, adjoining bathroom. These fine homes are constructed with beautiful marble or Mexican ceramic tile throughout, and boast floor-to-ceiling windows. Individually owned and appointed, they are distinctly designed for discriminating guests comfort and convenience. Included in the rental charge are daily maid service (Monday - Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.), linen and towel laundry pick-up, security checks and purified drinking water. The local English-speaking manager will greet guests at the airport and escort them to the condominiums, assist them in obtaining their rental vehicle, arrange sightseeing and other activities, plus address any requests they may have upon arrival or during their stay. The home owners prefer that smokers refrain from lighting up inside the condominiums, asking that they smoke outside on the covered balcony. Children are welcome; no pets.
