Lodging Description: Constructed in 1834 as a wedding gift to Dr. Alexander Boyd and his wife, Wealthy Thomas Boyd, Magnolia Hill Plantation exhibits the form of the typical Greek Revival planter's cottage. The plantation remains one of the most significant plantations in the State of Mississippi due to the preservation of original hardware, faux bois door paintings, authentically restored dependencies, and unspoiled plantation setting. Surrounded by one thousand five hundred acres of original plantation land which to this day remains with the original plantation decendants, the property now consists of a total of sixty acres, thirty of which have been converted to serene park like grounds, including a nine hole central green golf course, and thirty acres consisting of seven hills and unspoiled forests. Convenient to historical downtown Natchez, Magnolia Hill Plantation offers the visitor a quiet country setting undisturbed by city life. One can enjoy the 37000 gallon heated swimming pool, golfing on the private course situated on the property, recreational games including croquet, badminton, and horshoes, as well as horseback riding, bicycle rentals, private nature trails, hunting in season, fishing year round, or the simple pleasure of doing nothing.
